JLG was founded in 1969 when John Landis Grove formed a partnership with two close friends. Together they bought a small metalworking company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. With a crew of 20 employees, they built and sold the first JLG aerial platform in 1970. Many of the basic design elements from that platform are still incorporated into JLG products today. In 2006, JLG became a subsidiary of the Oshkosh Corporation.
JLG is constantly looking for new ways to be more sustainable in every aspect of its business. The company has been a pioneer in producing environmentally-friendly lifting and access equipment for years. At parent company Oshkosh too, sustainability promotes responsible production and eco-friendly products and services.
