Gehl is a US-based company with headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin. Gehl was founded in 1859 by Louis Lucas and is a manufacturer of heavy-duty equipment which is used worldwide in construction and agriculture. Their product range includes excavators, telescopic handlers, asphalt pavers and skid steer loaders. Gehl is also the largest non-tractor manufacturer of agricultural equipment in North America. In 2008, it was bought by French manufacturer Manitou Group for USD30 per share. In 2017, the company started marketing backhoe loaders after Manitou bought the Terex Vectra line from Terex.
Today, a modern research and design centre adjoins the Gehl headquarters. But most importantly, the company has stayed true to its reputation for ingenuity, innovation and reliability all these years.
